· Denizen vs. Edition: The ultimate in What Recession? news is the race between Marriott's Edition Hotels and Hilton's newly announced Denizen Hotels. While Denizen has no clear opening date, Edition has bounced around from city to city before finally settling today on Istanbul in December 2009. Will anyone care by the time these places open? Given the economy, we all just be shacking up at Holiday Inns won't we?

· Colombia Hotel Scene: Amanda Pressner, who gave us our Colombia Field Trip last month dishes on the hotel scene for our big sis.

· Three Hotels in One: The TriPack hotel in Manhattan is set to open soon with three different hotel brands inside--Candlewood Suites, Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express. What will they think of next?
