Crazy Airline Passengers Return; US Airways Charging $7 for Pillows

With so much travel news raining down on us, we don't always have time to give every story its own forecast. Here's more of the day's news, in brief.

· Australian Customs Will Seize, We Repeat, Will Seize Your Pigeons: That's what we learned from an Australian who tried to sneak past customs at Melbourne Airport with pigeons in his pants. But the thing is, he managed to sneak them in on his flight from Dubai. (Sidenote: Hairy legs!!) [The Age]

· Aeroflot Pilot Thought to Be Drunk: His Russian didn't make sense. Neither did his English. Aeroflot blames "mass psychosis" on the passengers' part as the pilot was not really drunk. Dunno if this is Russian blood alcohol limits they are testing but you know who wouldn't be caught drunk? Capt. Sully, that's who. [Negev Rock City]

· Celebrities Get Screwed Too: A private jet company has been accused with endangering its celebrity cargo by overfilling its tanks where fuel was cheap, thus exceeding the weight limits of the plane. [ABC News]

· A Reason Why We Go Crazy: US Airways has decided to start charging coach passengers $7 for pillows and blankets on flights. Sure, you can take them home but still nickel-and-diming us in the air is not the way to keep us or our pigeons happy. [Triad Area Biz Journal]

    That's just ridiculous...i better be sleeping on some 300-thread count luxury for seven dollars!

    new batch of pillows?

    what i would really like to know is are they manufacturing new pillows to sell to passengers or are they just repackaging their old crummy blankets and pillows (with hygenic coverings of course) and selling off the old inventory? my inner cynic believes its the latter.
