The sixth annual All-Nighter is one of the White Night festivals sweeping the globe, encouraging jaded city-dwellers to practice the same tactics they used in college, this time for fun. The Canadian edition of, shall we say, the Nuit Blanche is part of the High Lights Festival bringing arts and culture to the middle of winter, and includes an underground contemporary art exhibit called Art Souterrain, a local cheese tasting and a Rock Band competition for the teens where the open bar serves... milk. (Just like in "A Clockwork Orange"!)
Call us public transit nerds, but we think the best thing the city of Montreal did to encourage All-Nighter participation was to extend the metro for the night and offer a free shuttle bus around the city. Nothing slows down a night out more than not being able to get to where the fun is! Now, to figure out whether our monthly budget can be stretched for ungodly amounts of coffee.
