The city's MTA is quick to take down Paper Boy’s work so it is hard to pinpoint an exact piece, but if you see one you will know it. His unique style is a reflection of his unique artistic outlook. Paper Boy believes that art should be “a social thing, as opposed to being an artist making things for bored rich people to hang above their couch.”
Most recently, Poster Boy collaborated with fellow street artist Aakash Nihalani to put their signature touch on a temporary display of reproduced pieces from MoMA’s collection along platforms and passageways in Brooklyn’s Atlantic/Pacific subway station.
Paperboy turned famous works of art into something completely new using cut-outs of advertisements while Aakash Nihalani added his signature colored tape boxes around the station.
Apparently, MoMA doesn’t have much of a sense of humor since most of the remixed display was taken down the same day. This is just a taste of what is in store as this young artist continues to find his voice in subterranean NYC.
