Lohan, Unafraid Of Patriot Act, Pitches Fit On Delta

It's so, so hard to be Lindsay Lohan. But we'd sure love to get away with the tantrum she pulled Saturday morning when she was mistakenly booked in a coach seat for her Delta Airlines flight out of Tampa.

Lohan accompanied girlfriend Samantha Ronson to her DJ gig at the ESPN Magazine NEXT Party Friday night, but didn't bother staying for the game. When she discovered she was in the cheap seats for the overbooked flight, Lohan stomped and swore, telling someone she was with (possibly Ronson) to visit her in coach "in case I die," according to FOX News. Soon after that, a seat "magically" opened up for the squeaky wheel.

SkyMiles members on FlyerTalk seem more interested in how much you could get for allowing her to fly through, but Lohan's inability to deal is just another example of how celebs are not like us: Thanks to the USA Patriot Act's anti-terrorism provisions we wrote about a few weeks ago, should you choose to throw such a tantrum you'll be tasered and ushered to an "interrogation" room before you can say "Hot towel?" Instead, Lohan not only got her first-class seat but arrived at LAX cool and collected. This makes us madder than that time Clay Aiken's stinky feet got a free pass.

At the same time, it's hard to argue with a flight crew who made the best of a bad situation (screamy starlet) and, so far as we can find, got the flight out on time. If they had tasered the former Mean Girl, it might have made us feel better, but at the price of punctuality for the rest of the passengers. Would you have appeased her to get home on time?

when i read this...

i was wondering just what did the folks at the gate have to do to move her into first class? this has happened to me before where i used miles to upgrade a coach ticket to first only to get to the gate to have an attendant say, they overbooked first and i need to sit in coach.

apparently, my ticket was worth less than other people in first class bc i used miles and they used cash.

so they put me in coach and gave me a voucher. i cant remember for how much, maybe the price of my ticket? either way, coach was not full so i had a row to myself which ended up being just fine.

but with lohan, they may have moved someone from first to coach and gave them a voucher just so lindz could sit up front and "not die."

I think there's an order
as to who gets bumped (perhaps similar to who gets upgraded -- higher class, higher likelihood). Me, I would want to get bumped just for a sweet voucher deal -- if I ever had enough miles to upgrade.
