No, I've never accidentally opened a $7.50 bottle of mini-bar water, because I'm vigilant about not being gouged for such things. Actually, $7.50 seems kind of cheap for a mini-bar. I would assume it's $35 or something. The best thing to do is find a nearby grocery store or convenience store right after you check in and load up on beer, water, and munchies at a reasonable price. Maybe even get a bag of ice, because the fanciest hotels don't even have self-serve ice machines anymore. You can call the bellman to fetch you a bucket of ice, but you've got to tip the guy.
