Funny thing is, Jolie may be just window-shopping: In January she, Pitt, and all the babies rented a Long Island mansion previously on the market for $60 million. The Tudor-style megapad was supposed to be the clan's home while Jolie films a CIA thriller currently titled "Salt," but maybe they got itchy for a more urban lifestyle.
And now, a moment of pedantry: Many blogs are claiming Angie was looking at "the Upper West Side," a mistake that will differentiate you from people who actually live here. That neighborhood runs along Central Park, whose northern border is about forty blocks south of where Jolie is considering planting her clan. Wash Heights is slightly more cutting-edge -- there's a cemetery down the street! -- but this swatch is trying to rebrand itself as Audubon Terrace or Audubon Park, for the well-known naturalist who owned large tracts of land up here in the 19th century. Just don't call it "upper West."
