Fine Dining With Meryl Streep in Brooklyn

February 18, 2009 at 3:31 PM | by cmb | 1 Comment

Fine dining takes on a whole new meaning today as “The Untitled Nancy Meyers Project” begins filming at Dressler in Brooklyn. The movie stars Meryl Streep, Steve Martin, Alec Baldwin and TV’s hottest "Office" employee, John Krasinski. Little is known about the film but according to IMDb, it is “a romantic comedy in which two men vie for the affection of a woman.”

Dressler is one of Brooklyn’s best restaurants. Executive Chef, Polo Dobkin’s specialties like Bacon Wrapped Monkfish set Dressler apart from the pack without breaking the bank. When it opened in 2006, the New York Times paid it nothing but compliments.

“Dressler promises, and delivers, something difficult to pull off: food that's sophisticated without being too clever, in a room that's beautiful without being too flamboyant.”

You can stalk out Meryl and the rest of the cast all day at Dressler, 149 Broadway, just don’t tell them who sent you.

    John Vs. Alec

    Oh Meryl, you lucky lady!

I just saw her daughter actually (Mamie Gummer) in "Uncle Vanya" at Classic Stage in the East Village. She hasn't been in a lot of movies yet but I'd be surprised if she didn't follow in Mom's foosteps; she's quite good.
