How is Your Presidents Week Travel Going?

February 16, 2009 at 10:03 AM | by BS | 2 Comments

This week is usually one of the busiest travel times of the late-winter season, with travelers taking advantage of the holiday weekend and extended school break, so we're wondering how busy things are in 2009's recession-sized holiday weekend.

Rainy, foggy weather in the Bay Area (surprise!) caused delays most of the weekend for flights to and from SFO, although waits are down to 15 minutes as of this morning, and we haven't heard much bad news from elsewhere.

How is your Presidents Week travel faring? Busy? Empty?

Let the world know your Presidents Week travel story here. Or drop your snaps in our Jaunted Flickr Pool.

    LAX...

On Thursday was crowded! My flight to Palm Beach via Houston was almost full. But the connecting flight from Houston to Palm Beach was packed. Also down in Florida there are a ton of PT cruisers on the road. No doubt from the rental shops.

    I traveled last weekend instead

because tickets for this weekend were ~$150 more than the weekend before for the same length of trip. Seems I made the right choice though because I'm sick now. Aren't you glad I wasn't on any of your flights?! I did notice a fair amount of empty seats last weekend on my DFW-EWR leg though -- enough that I was able to switch from a window to an aisle when I checked in.
