How To Get Tickets To The 2010 Rose Bowl

Things in Pasadena are going to be pretty busy during the first week of 2010. Besides the annual Rose Bowl and Rose Parade, there’s also going to be another pretty big game being played about a week later. This year’s BCS National Championship Game between Alabama and Texas will also be played at American’s stadium on January 7. We know you probably want to get it on all the flowery fun, so here’s a few tips to get your tickets to the big games.

The best way to get tickets is to know a little old lady from Pasadena. Residents of the SoCal city get the hook up when it comes to access to scoring seats. Local fans lined up last weekend for a shot to get tickets to both the Rose Bowl Game and the BCS National Championship Game. They didn’t get a discount, but calling a long lost friend in the area is a better way to buy tickets than simply handing over your wallet to the scalpers.

For traditionalists that want to attend the 2010 Rose Bowl Game between the Oregon Ducks and the Ohio State Buckeyes on January 1, you missed your chance at scoring tickets the old-fashioned way. Seats went on sale yesterday through Ticketmaster for $145 a piece—before any of those wonderful handling fees. There’s always StubHub and they currently have tickets for as little as $300 per ticket—oof. The officially sponsored ticket exchange is run through RazorGator. Feel free to check it out but right now StubHub is going to be the better deal, but only if you consider double face value a deal!

Fans of Alabama and Texas probably have their Outlook calendars set at the office for next week when tickets to the 2010 BCS National Championship Game go on sale. After all, fans don’t want to miss a chance to grab tickets at $275 a piece. Things get underway on Ticketmaster’s website at 8:00am PT/11:00am ET on Tuesday, December 15—so get ready to start clicking the refresh button. You can only get two tickets per call and a maximum of four tickets per person, so the buddy system might be necessary if you’re bringing your whole fraternity house to the game. If you’ve got a spotty WiFi signal just dial (213) 365-3675 for a chance at winning the race for the tickets.

If money isn’t an object, or you’ve been extra nice this year, think about one of the game packages. Access to the Rose Bowl Game and parade will be guaranteed, and you’ll be sure to have accommodations not too far from all the action. You’ll even get behind-the-scenes access to the parade and a pretty decent confirmed seat to the game—corner end zone. Prices start at $2,200 per person if you want to stay at the Hilton Pasadena and it’s $2,525 over at The Langham Pasadena. Sometimes the need to go just outweighs the financial ramifications, but we totally understand, and wish your team good luck.
