Wherein We Warily Test The Priceline Negotiator's Last-Minute Deals

Seriously, Shatner?

There've been Priceline gripes a-plenty, but we've also begrudgingly admitted to using "The Negotiator" to wrangle ourselves travel savings when it suits us. In our very, very, very last-minute search for holiday travel deals, what should we stumble upon than a menu of Flights Under $150, expiring tomorrow. *Flash-Act Now!-Flash*

Is The Shatner for real, though? Prices averaging at about $150 round-trip, with some departures the day before Christmas? We had to dig a little deeper to see if Captain Kirk was fooling us with that karate stance and winning grin.

What we found, after the jump.

Round-trip from LAX to SFO is advertised at $100, and we chose a departure of Christmas Eve and return on the 28th. The lowest price that came back was $112. Huh. Try Number Two: Nashville to Chicago, advertised at a low $138, with an actual rate of $148 coming back after the search results went through. There's a connection in Cincinnati, but overall this looks pretty legit. There's some fine print about the deal being applicable between "14-45 days of ticketing," but more importantly the flight savings end tomorrow.

We're just trusting the fact that we went through the booking process and found prices scarily, unexpectedly close to those listed on the deals page. Could The Negotiator be spreading some Christmas cheer, sans annoying booking hassles? Score one point for Shatner.
