Our first question for Jetsetter's CEO Drew Patterson? Will Jetsetter offer first class airline tickets at any point? "Definitely," says Drew, who knows what he's talking about thanks to a background at both Starwood and Kayak. If you consider the fact that they've been able to unload whole cruise packages on lines like Seabourn Yachts, then round-trip, upper-class international airline tickets could be an easier sell, especially if they secure a "sale" price on them. We're drooling already.
So then we checked in with the site's Creative Director Amy Ziff, the former Editor-at-Large at Travelocity and a huge cheerleader for Jetsetter. She confirmed our suspicion that the Hôtel de Crillon was the blue chip stock they aimed for, and now have achieved. And just like with any real blue chip stock, it's paying off for them in spades, adding clout to the barely three-month-old website while attracting the attention of the big spenders.
Finally, curious as to what properties are coming up next (heywe've got a jaunt over to London coming up soon), we were introduced to Jetsetter's curators, Roberta and Judy. They filled us in that although right now, the site has lots of prime California getaways and the occasional Paris hotel and Indian Ocean island, we can look forward to another major London property and a bevy of tropical destinations to see out this winter. Ski chalets? Check. Now we'll just sit quietly over here, nervously tapping our feet, until those promised first class airfares arrive.
