In the morning, the rain will change to snow in the Dakotas and Minnesota and in the evening the snow will reach Iowa. Minnesota and northern Iowa may see one to three inches of the white stuff, Weather.com reports.
Down South, low pressure over the Gulf of Mexico will travel eastward across the Florida Peninsula and cause heavy showers and thunderstorms. The heaviest rain will hit the central part of the state, though the southern section may see thunderstorms.
In the Northeast, coastal areas will be mostly dry, but rain will move eastward across Upstate New York and Pennsylvania during the day. By the evening, the Baltimore-Washington area may see a few light showers.
While most of the West Coast will be as dry as Aunt Edna's Thanksgiving turkey, western Washington may have some showers from the tail of a Pacific storm.
So for those of you traveling via plane today, bring extra reading material for any possible delays, and for those of you driving to Grandma's, be careful of slick roads.
