A First Look At 'Fly Girls,' Bringing Juicy Flight Attendant Drama To The CW

Let the buzz begin over the newest reality show-drama to hit the boob tube: "Fly Girls," a "docu-series" that will follow the day-to-night, sky-to-ground lives of five flight attendants for Virgin America. The teaser commercial just leaked last night on YouTube (we've posted it above), and already we're salivating for the start.

Now we know that Virgin America is bringing the sexy back to air travel, but this is the stuff of pure vice. For those of you familiar with the MTV shows "The Hills" and "The City," "Fly Girls" might feel familiar since the show is from the same executive producer, and we can already see the similarities through this brief spot alone. Still, it won't be all clubbin' and kissin' for the girls, as the CW is saying that the show is to be a "360-degree look at the charismatic jet-setting flight attendants on America�s hippest new airline." Does this mean we'll get to watch them explaining to cranky passengers how to connect to the in-flight WiFi?

Over the course of eight half-hour episodes, five beautiful Virgin America flight attendants jet from one glamorous location to the next, including Las Vegas, South Beach and New York City, while pursuing good times, great parties, adventure and love. From their shared home-base 'crash pad' in Los Angeles, California, the young women will deal with work lives that include split-second decision-making, demanding and sometimes fascinating passengers, long hours in the air and layovers in interesting locales. Their personal lives are filled with romance, family, friendships and more than a few roommate conflicts.

Why are the episodes only a half-hour? With commercials and there being only eight episodes, this will be a short series indeed, but at least it's happening. For those who've read the book Coffee, Tea, Or Me?, this whole concept seems pulled straight from the book and updated, but we will see.

Although there's no premiere date yet, the CW does say "mid-season," and that means early January 2010.

not sure but this is not what it is really like, today 2009...

What a lot of crap. What are we, back in the 60's of sexy stewardesses? What bull...These women AND MEN are total professionals who work their butts off and are just a heroic in emergency situations as anyone....remember US AIR on the Hudson? And what about all the WOMEN PILOTS? CW is disgusting and those women who sold old to be on a "realty" TV show should be fired. "We've come a LONG WAY, baby" but the CW wants us to go a long way BACKWARDS.
