Can You Be Excused From The Table? Three Last-Minute Thanksgiving Trip Deals

You have itchy feet and nowhere to be next Thursday (or you simply need a good excuse to get away from the day). We have a few packages that will be more cost-effective than buying a whole turkey. Let's check 'em out...

Option 1: Spend it with the First Family:
LastMinute.com has flight and hotel packages to Washington D.C. starting at just $246. When you get there, work up an appetite at the Eighth Annual Trot For Hunger 5K along the Potomac, then chow down at the Mandarin Oriental's new restaurant, Sou'wester. On Friday, hit Pentagon City mall at 5AM to get all your shopping done, then attend a tree lighting in Old Town Alexandria.

Option 2: Spend it on a boat:
Long Beach's Hotel Queen Mary may be on a voyage to nowhere, so let the journey to it (and $85/night accommodations via Travelzoo) be your longest trip. Hit the Thanksgiving buffet—you'll need to fuel up for camping overnight on the curb to get a good spot for Sunday's Hollywood Christmas Parade (or pay $35 for grandstand seats).

Option 3: Spend it on the links (or in the spa):
Don't just stay home playing Tiger Woods PGA Tour this year. Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina bundles your $155/night rate with symphony tickets and a deluxe dinner. If you don't want to spoil a good walk, pick the spa package instead of the golf one.
