The flight, a Boeing 757 leaving with 200 passengers from Grozny Airport, is headed to Saudi Arabia so that the passengers may visit Muslim holy sites. And this won't be the last, as the Sofia News Agency noted that "an official statement said seven aircraft would carry 2,000 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia, and regular international flights would begin soon." Still, this has got to be the worst-named airport for a region coming out of conflict; "Grozny" in Russian means "menacing," or "terrible," and we can only imagine the PA system in the terminals: "Welcome to Terrible Airport."
