Bad-Boy Chef Guy Fieri Embarks on Rock 'n' Roll Culinary Tour

November 17, 2009 at 11:44 AM | by Jennifer Kester | 0 Comments

If you're a fan of the platinum-blond, spiky-haired Guy Fieri, host of Food Network shows Guy's Big Bite, Guy Off the Hook and Diners, Drive-ins and Dives—or were wondering what all the fuss was on Saturday Night Live's sketch parodying the bad-boy chef—you can see him and his 'do live. It's on like Donkey Kong for the chef, who set out on his first nationwide Guy Fieri Road Show tour this week.

The Guy Fieri Road Show is being billed as a rock 'n' roll culinary tour. The season-two winner of The Next Food Network Star is "playing" big theaters, traveling to each city on tour buses and enlisting L.A.-based DJ Cobra to spin and keep the beat pumping throughout the show.

The general format of the live, two-hour event will be like a rock concert. There will be several openers; Australian "flair" bartender Hayden Wood will talk drinks, and a local celebrated chef will demonstrate recipes from Fieri's new cookbook More Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives: A Drop-Top Culinary Cruise Through American's Finest and Funkiest Joints. For the main event, Fieri will take the stage with an unscripted performance, complete with interactive cooking stations, demos, behind-the-scenes stories from the road and more. He's not dishing on what he'll be cooking, though he does own an Italian restaurant and several Southern barbecue joints, if those are any clues.

The Road Show began November 17 in Lowell, Massachusetts, and will end in Vegas on December 19, hitting a total of 21 cities in 30 days. General ticket prices vary, but if you really think Fieri's on point, you can upgrade. For $250, you can get the Off Da Hook package, which includes a seat on stage, a tour laminate, a copy of his new book, two squirt bottles and a pre-show meet and greet. The Kulinary Krew package offers the same perks, but you won't be sitting on stage. For $150, you'll get a floor seat. Either option will surely be the real-deal Holyfield.
