The good news is, it's not just for those flying Virgin Atlantic, although you'll probably be hard pressed to find a taxi buddy who knows about this from another airline during this Beta period. It's also only available right now for flight between New York-JFK and London-LHR.
The way to go about finding a Taxi2 buddy is to input your flight and contact details on Taxi2's website, and then you'll then see matches on your flight. Your contact info will not directly be given to the others, but you communicate through the website. It is up to the two (or more) of you to decide whether to go through with the taxi share and decide where to meet. Taxi2 even provides a .pdf you can print to hold up and flag down your rideshare companion; dorky, but occasionally necessary in crowded baggage claims. To put it bluntly: this whole Taxi2 idea is so great, that we hope it rolls out at more international airports.
