This Weekend In The World: Science Films, Pumpkin Beer and Apple Butter

· New York:
Even though the Food Network Wine & Food Festival has been in full swing since yesterday, the finger-licking, heavy tippling good times continue through Sunday around the city. For a complete list of events and how to get tickets for them, visit their official website, but we're most tempted by the Michelin and illy "Coffee Talks" in the Gansevoort plaza, the South African Tourism dinner with James Beard winner Marcus Samuelsson, Giada de Laurentiis and designer Zac Posen, and the Bob Dylan wine pairing—all on Saturday. Headquarters are at the Eater.com lounge at The Standard Hotel.

· Paris:
It's not your average Parisian film fest this weekend in the City of Lights, as Pariscience screens forty science-focused films, paired with debates, through the weekend. Hosted by l’Association Science & Télévision, the film festival lasts through Sunday and you can find out more at their website.

· Seattle:
We already told you once, but the Great Pumpkin Beer Festival is good enough to deserve reiteration. Technically, all we should have to say to make you want to go is "Hansel and Gretel Ginger Pumpkin Pilsner," but we'll also let on that the festival will have a full menu, beer fermented in a pumpkin, guest breweries, and only $15 for an admission fee which includes some drink tickets.

· Prague:
Interested in design fairs outside the usual New York and Miami ones? How about trekking over to Prague this weekend (well, hopefully you're already there) for Designblok, their city-wide celebration of Eastern European design and innovation. Events and gallery shows take place in various boutiques and unique venues through the weekend, with huge focuses on fashion, graphic, and furniture design. · Grand Rapids, Ohio:
We're well into the autumn spirit, what with all the foliage showing and pumpkin spice lattes brewing. To properly celebrate the season, head to the heart of the midwest in Ohio, where the town of Grand Rapids hosts the annual Apple Butter Festival along the banks of the Maumee River. There will be a "frontier/Civil War encampment," cauldrons of apple butter, buffalo burgers, vintage farm equipment, and crafts for miles. What more can you ask for from fall?
