Madrid. I just got robbed in the street in front of the Thyssen museum... My wallet, cash and all my credit cards!! DVF.
You might not think this a big deal since yeseven celebs can get robbed, but Diane a super world traveler who constantly jets around the globe in search of design inspiration and working on behalf of various charities and as the President of the Council of Fashion Designers of America. This is a woman who hangs upside down to stretch while on conference calls, and who has her own traveler Barbie doll with luggage; yes, she also has a people-sized line of luggage. But perhaps you might remember her most from an inspiring commercial for American Express. No doubt that cherished AmEx is in the hands of the Madrid thief now.
To put it plainly: this is bad exposure for Madrid. DVF counts over 11,000 fans of fashion, travel and design as her followers on Twitter. The news of her mugging is already spreading, and we wonder if it'll resonate among her Spanish fans, since she has a shop in Madrid. Hopefully she wont' encounter the same misfortune when she travels to open her future stores in Dubai and India, and the DVF Retrospective in Moscow.
