Baby Born On Air Asia Plane Gets Free Flights For Life

October 23, 2009 at 2:09 PM | by JetSetCD | 2 Comments

In our next life, we'd like to return as a baby born aboard an Air Asia flight. Talk about lucky—a pregnant woman on a flight between Penang and Kuching on Borneo went into surprise labor while in the air, prompting the plane to try for an emergency landing in Kuala Lumpur, but the baby popped out before they could get on the ground.

After the successful delivery, the mother and child were transported to a KL hospital, where they were visited by the higher-ups at Air Asia, who presented them with the rights to free flights for life. Assuming that Air Asia will be around until the kid hits retirement in something like sixty years, he could really make a name for himself traveling around Asia—or beyond, since Air Asia now also flies to both London and is busily signing paperwork to come to both Paris and Los Angeles. Boy oh boy are we jealous of this little boy. The question now is...did he kinda join the mile high club just being born up there?

    Lucky Kid!

I am so JEALOUS! I love traveling and the only thing keeping me back is the cost of flights! This kid doesn't know how lucky he is. To answer your question, I think he is a part of the mile high club simply because that is so unbelievably rare to be born like that! Maybe he should have a club of his own? Do we think any U.S. Airlines would give someone 'flights for life' if that happened?? Not sure...

re: Baby Born On Air Asia Plane Gets Free Flights

I am also jealous with the baby, imagine having a free flight for life. The baby can go wherever he likes as long as the plane has the capacity to go there. I am really jealous because he will not suffer any burden in the cost of the flights especially now we are expecting some recessions. Since the recession, people are having a hard time to get by. So predatory lending seems to be on a lot of people's minds these days - but it isn't like it shouldn't be. Often times, the prime candidates for predatory lending accusations are usually payday lenders. Maybe it isn't fair - studies done on the payday lending industry as a whole revealed that they've only become profitable as a whole since the recession began, and prior to that barely broke even as an industry for years. The business model is easier to turn a profit with, in theory, than a traditional bank, but then again, payday loans lenders are typically housed in small shops, not skyscrapers, which begs the question of who is doing the REALLY predatory lending?
