· The Bridge School Benefit
The Bridge School Benefit brings philanthropy and performance together for the 22nd year. Organized by Neil Young and wife Pegi, the show's proceeds go toward, naturally, The Bridge School, an educational organization serving children with speech and physical impairments. The two day affair will be held on October 24th and 25th at Shoreline Ampitheater, and advance tickets are selling for $150.00 and $75 (reserved seating), or $39.50 (general admission), or you can purchase a four pack of GA tickets for $99. Neil, No Doubt, Fleet Foxes, Jimmy Buffett, Chris Martin of Coldplay, Sheryl Crow, Gavin Rossdale, Adam Sandler, and others are all set to appear and/or perform under the stars of Mountain View.
· Halloween Hoedown
On the other end of the spectrum, L.A. residents can enjoy a Halloween Hoedown in the courtyard of Westwood's Hammer Museum on October 30th. You heard us correctly: A hoedown. In L.A. Just go with it. The Shadow Mountain Band will regale you with bluegrass music, a gingham-clad hostess named Darlin' will be circling to make sure everyone's enjoying themselves, and you can enter to win a Halloween decoration contest. Costumes encouraged, of course.
The Hollywood Bowl series
And, believe it or not, there is still one more chance to catch a show at revered, Jaunted favorite venue The Hollywood Bowl. Leave the overalls and banjo at home for this one, though. On Sunday, October 25th, famed composer Ennio Morricone, whose music you know from Sergio Leone's classic Spaghetti Westerns like The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, will be performing with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and Angeles Chorale. But picnic-ers, take note: since this is a lease event, you can't bring in glass or alcoholic beverages, per usual, so ditch the Cabernet-Franc before you enter and lose yourself in the music instead. TIckets can be purchased online here.
