The duo managed to pull off the hectic feat by never spending more than 12 hours in a city. They chronicled their adventures on an entertaining blog called twelvehoursinacity.com, which has photos and video of each stop along the journey. Among the highlights was an evening of rockstar-style partying in Houston, partying with a WWE Diva in Tampa, and, well, partying in Sacramento, New Orleans, San Francisco, and dozens of other cities. Oh, and Dever asked his girlfriend to marry him in Phoenix. (She said yes.)
It was the trip of a lifetime for both of them, who garnered tons of press and freebies along the way, ranging from meals to limo rides. Lucky stiffs. Still, I imagine there was plenty of discomfort, with rough sleep on airplanes, handsy security personnel, and a general sense of disorientation.
It's no surprise their journey struck a note with travelers. Not only did they take full advantage of JetBlue's sale fare - I wonder how much each flight worked out to - but they also got the ultra-condensed 21st century version of the Great American Road Trip. All killer, no filler. Here's hoping their abrupt return to regular life doesn't stifle them to death with boredom.
