Bride Wars

"Bride Wars" opens nationwide today to remind everyone that getting married isn't always the best idea. The film is about best friends (Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway) who try to sabotage each other's big day after a falling out over the date. The movie was filmed throughout NYC and Boston last spring, so today we offer you inspiration from the movie's locations. Take note brides-to-be.

Where to Stay:
If you’ve seen previews for the movie, you know that the feud between Hudson’s character, Liv, and Hathaway’s character, Emma, begins when their weddings are accidentally booked for the same day at The Plaza. The hotel’s recent renovations added private residential condominiums, starting at a mere $2.5 million, and several new amenities for hotel guests. Updates also include a $28 hamburger and tea for two for $173.

Where to Eat:
Pho Republique, a swanky restaurant in Boston’s South End was the site of Emma’s bridal shower. It's known for serving Asian cuisine with a western twist like candied garlic spare ribs and French-Vietnamese steak frites. Their exotic décor and intoxicating cocktails makes Pho Republique a favorite date spot, even for the already-engaged.

Where to Window Shop:
In the movie, Emma and her fiancé walk through the Diamond District checking out rings while ducking Liv’s antics. The district is located on 47th Street in Manhattan and is made up of small jewelry stores that are known for their large selection of diamonds at low (ish!) prices. And since a proper Bridezilla movie wouldn't be complete without the appearance of a little blue box, Kate and Anne were spotted filming a scene in Tiffany’s on Fifth Ave last spring.

The ladies also make a stop at Bloomingdales, but not the one you are thinking of. The department store scenes were shot in the Mall at Chestnut Hill in Boston. The mall features your usual fare like Victoria’s Secret, Crate and Barrel, Neiman Marcus and Sephora.
