What to See:
Much of film (at least much of the film’s preview) happens while Harvey and Kate are walking around London, presumably sharing their life’s disappointments. At one point they wonder through the grounds of the Somerset House. The Somerset House sits between the Strand and the River Thames offering pleasant views of their 55 fountains that dance in the courtyard during the summer and ice skaters playing on London’s most popular skate rink in the winter. This majestic neo-classical building also features film, art, music and family events throughout the year. It is a perfect spot to sit and reflect as Harvey and Kate do in the film.
Kate and Harvey also walk through Belsize Park in the London Borough of Camden. Belsize Park is very fashionable. Part of the attraction of this area is that it is within walking distance of some of the best parks in London. There is also an abundance of exclusive shops and restaurants throughout the district making it a nice area for walking and window shopping.
Where to Eat:
Belsize Park has plenty of restaurants nearby to satisfy any taste. Two of the most popular with locals are The Stag on Fleet Rd and Meghna on Heath Street.
Meghna serves fine Indian food in an elegant setting. Their specialty is a chicken dish that is mildly flavored in a succulent creamy sauce and garnished with nuts. If you are interested in lighter fare, they also serve tapas and cocktails on a rooftop terrace.
The Stag is a casual pub that serves excellent dinners and snacks. For those interested in dining outdoors, they have a large garden with some covered areas. The Stag is also family friendly welcoming kids of all ages.
