Get to know someone, anyone, in the "industry"
These folks will keep you informed on what and who is going on where. Also, try to get a hold of the "Sundance Party List" before the fest (Yes, this actually exists).
With party list in hand, RSVP for everything
If you're not a VIP, then RSVP as press. (This even works for the vaguest blogs/bloggers. Trust
me--publicists want to get in with the "viral crowd" these days.)
Give yourself a month before Sundance and try to get an official credential
Even if you don't RSVP, at least having a credential can help you get in. Too late for '09? Try this in 2010.
Take advantage of the free shuttle buses
They take you around town from Main Street to every main theater venue.
Cafe Clockwork on 632 main street
It's the only spot open 24-hours. Perfect for that daytime or late night bite. They also let our team hang out there until 5am (we didn't have a place to stay and then
crashed in the hallway outside. How's that for being resourceful?)
The bathrooms at Village at the Lift at the base of Main Street are open 24/7
The Quality Inn in Salt Lake City isn't too bad
Only 30 minutes away from Park City, the WiFi is free and the staff will drive you to and
from local restaurants.
Say you're working with (fill in celebrity name)
Throw a flipcam or video phone in their face and say you're going live, then proceed
to get what you want (Well, it might not work for you, but it worked
for me!)
