Where To Get Your Hair Did In DC For The Inauguration

A little eyelash batting, a couple flicks of the hair, and you convinced that Hill staffer in the pleated khakis to take you to one of the hot-ticket balls for Barack Obama's Inauguration. The only problem is that now you have to find a dress, someone to hem it, accessories, shoes and a hairstyle. But don't fret. Hotels have anticipated your wily ways with the following programs:

St. Regis: The venerable hotel has partnered with Neiman Marcus to create a lobby boutique with both formal and cold-weather accessories, an Yves Saint Laurent Beauté Eye Bar with makeup and eyelash application, and a Manolo Blahnik shoeshine and bowtie-tying service. Neiman's wardrobe consultants will help style and coordinate last-minute alterations, purchases and wardrobe changes. Yes friends, this is how the other half lives.

Liaison Hotel: After the party there's the after-party, and you wouldn’t want to get stuck maxing out the mini-bar. Instead the Liaison Hotel has been working with guests to plan en suite pre- and post-parties so you can do it up proper (you know, with stemware and all). You can have food and champagne delivered for some classy pre-gaming, or arrange for post-ball munchies of the fried variety, the better to stave off that impending hangover.

And it's not just the hotels getting in on the action. The hordes of celebs descending on DC will bring with them a legion of makeup artists, hairstylists, trainers, gurus and more. Among them:

Ted Gibson, the man who has tousled the tresses of ladies like Dame Angelina and Princess Anne Hathaway, is packing up much of his New York operation and setting up shop for the week at Hela Spa. It's right near Saks Fifth Avenue and its dress department, so you can kill two birds (and your bank account) with one stone. Cut and styling with the man himself runs $950. Want to drop (slightly) less cash? Book with Gibson senior stylist Liam Carey, our go-to guy for up-dos.

Bang: Prefer to pay your rent over getting your hair did? Book at DC favorite, Bang, which has locations along the hip U Street Corridor and in the Penn Quarter (on the same block as some of the biggest balls). Up-dos run $50 and up, and they still have spots available.
