Where To Stalk Celebs At The Inauguration

January 14, 2009 at 12:30 PM | by colleenclark | 1 Comment

There’s nothing that Hollywood loves more than an excuse to party, so it makes sense that every celeb short of Fred Thompson is packing their patriotism and heading to Obamarama 2009. DC will have more celebs-per-square-foot than Betty Ford after the holidays, and we’ve got the inside track on where you can find them:

The Hay Adams: The man himself will be staying at the historic Hay Adams hotel in the days leading up to the swearing in. Though your chances of getting a close-up look are slim, it’s probably the closest you’ll get to the Barackstar during the festivities. (Or during the next four years.)

The Four Seasons: The only thing more guarded than our future president is the inaugural plan of Obama super-fan Oprah Winfrey. The one thing we do know is that the queen of all media will be staying at the Four Seasons in Georgetown. Where else she pops up--and how many cars she gives away when she gets there--is anyone’s guess.

Ben’s Chili Bowl: The president elect already took our advice and tucked into a half-smoke this week, and the celeb-favorite hot dog joint is likely to satisfy many a boozy late-night food craving.

BET Honors: Head to the Warner Theater at 5 pm on Sunday night to catch a who’s who of black actors, athletes, musicians and leaders as they walk the red carpet for the BET Honors.

Harman Center for the Arts: Many of the hottest ticket events are being held at the District’s new performing arts center. Hang around Monday or Tuesday night from 8 pm onwards to catch glimpses of everyone from Russell Simmons to LL Cool J, Susan Sarandon to Maggie Gyllenhall.

You're sure to spot a celebrity or two at The Palm restaurant on 19th St. south of Dupont.
