With so much travel news flying around, we don't always have time to give every story big play. Here's more of the day's news, in brief.

· Dream Job Alert: Tourism Queensland in Australia plans to pay an "Island Caretaker" A$150,000 ($101,900) to spend six months blogging about how much fun it is to hang out on the Great Barrier Reef and go snorkeling. Yes really. Submit your video application here before February 22.

· Ireland (and Europe) on Sale: Aer Lingus has heaps of flights on sale for spring, like New York to Dublin for $415 and Boston to Paris for $534 all-in.

· Fiji Currently the Opposite of Idyllic: Flooding driven by powerful rain storms has killed eight on the Pacific island nation, and thousands of locals and tourists alike are taking shelter wherever they can. [AP, via Google]

· TV in Your Rental Car: Avis and Budget will add "Cruisecast" to rental cars for $9 a day or $63 a week, meaning you no longer have to plan trips around new episodes of "Burn Notice." [BT]

· John McCain Wants Airport Rules Relaxed: The senator is sick of the seemingly arbitrary rules that keep LaGuardia and Washington National from serving the West Coast--but are more flights from congested airports the answer? [CF]

6 months...

Is really a long time. To be honest being in isolation for that much time would drive me crazy...unless there was training :). Give me a computer, TV, FOOD and I'll be good though.

I would like to apply

The website will not come up to apply. I really would like to apply for this. I would love this. Yea 6 months would be a long but it would be paradise.
