Sir Richard Branson and the sunglasses-wearing cast of Entourage choppered into Hangar 12 at JFK to christen the new Entourage Air with bottles of Champagne before the aforementioned plane took off for Vegas, officially opening Virgin America's new JFK-LAS route.
Neither the cast nor Richard joined us on the flight--airline moguls and actors are busy folks, it seems--but we were treated to a screening of the Entourage Season 5 premiere mid-flight. Spoiler? Nah, we won't do that, but we will tell you there is a dead fish cameo.
The screening, of course, kicks off a new partnership between VA and HBO. Entourage will be available free of charge on VA's RED in-flight throughout the month of September. First-class passengers will also get lots of extra amenities, though they don't get to take their noise-cancelling headphones home.
While VA doesn't have the TV channel reception and selection of JetBlue, they are building a interesting selection of unique content including Current TV and Boing Boing snippets, and HBO programming fits nicely in that family.
Also, Radar was there!
