Sorry, Portland: Philly Going Super Green

September 5, 2008 at 12:31 PM | 1 Comment

Don't look now, but Philadelphia is creeping up on San Francisco and Portland in the race to be America's greenest city.

Already home to PhillyCarShare--one of the larger and more affordable car-sharing fleets around--and the Comcast Tower, the tallest LEED-certified building in the country, Philly is celebrating everything organ-loca-enivro-friendly this Sunday at the 20,000-person GreenFest Philly.

Events range from nerdy (water quality symposium) to fashionable (the Eco Exchange Clothing Swap) to delicious (an organic pastry contest).

The GreenFest, which is free to enter, takes over 2nd Street between South and Pine on Sunday from 11 to 6.

    And don't...

forget about the Big Green Earth Store which opened last month! Haven't been there yet but I def have to check it out. Learn a little more about it on uwishunu, http://www.uwishunu.com/the-big-green-earth-store/

The best part is that it's located right in the middle of Old City where all the party people hang out.
