Like the special events at Knott's Berry Farm, the Halloween Horror Nights are separate events that take place after the traditional, more peaceful, happenings in the park. As you make your way through the main gates for you'll immediately realize that things are not as you left them during the day. The park is transformed to represent this year's theme which brings urban legends, fables and stories to life.

The most prominent feature this year is Bloody Mary and her haunted house, where guests step through the mirror and into her world. In addition, there are seven other haunted houses that incorporate Universal films and assorted baddies like Jack the Ripper.

There are also seven different "scare zones" scattered throughout the park. Just watch out for the Asylum in Wonderland, where you enter an evil version of the Alice in Wonderland story. If you want a different story, go through the Fractured Tales zone. Here, even more Halloween legends and fairly tales come to life.

Finally, for those that just can't handle any more, there are a few shows that will give you a few minutes to relax. There's a tribute to the Rocky Horror Picture Show and also a presentation of Bill and Ted's Excellent Halloween Adventure that parodies the best and worst of film, TV and pop culture within the last year.

If you're up for the challenge, the park is open for Halloween adventure most Wednesday-Sunday nights through November 1. Tickets are $70.
