NY Brewfest Swears They Won't Run Out of Beer This Year

September 4, 2008 at 9:38 AM | 0 Comments

New Yorkers generally like to avoid South Street Seaport, as it is perpetually overcrowded with, well, too many non-New Yorkers.

We've come across plenty of City-dwellers who won't venture to SSS for any reason whatsoever, but if ever there was a good excuse to break principle, that excuse is beer.

The 3rd Annual NY Brewfest, which takes over the Seaport next Friday, September 12, is sponsored by Heartland Brewery and brings in new and specialty tastings from all the local faves, like Brooklyn Brewery and Kelso, as well as a few from further afield, including Buffalo Brewing Company and Delaware's Dogfish Head.

Those who turned out for last year's celebration of beer snobbery know that it was... hold your breath... way too freaking crowded. Thankfully, the Brewfest is acknowledging the problem, and notes on its website that organizers have expanded staff and the number of check-in gates to make lines a little more manageable this year.

Most importantly, they've called the breweries out and told them they better show up with enough beer to last all night.
