Possible Presidents Travel: RNC Chill

September 3, 2008 at 4:20 PM | by | Comments (0)

The Grand Old Party's still raging in Minneapolis today as the nation prepares for Governor Sarah Palin's speech to the delegates tonight. Former presidential candidates Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee and Rudy Giuliani are also scheduled to speak on the night's topic, "Reform: Washington is broken and the original maverick will fix it." (They mean John McCain, people!)

Joining the guys on the stage are two high-profile Republican businesswomen, former eBay CEO Meg Whitman and former HP CEO Carly Fiorina. And Gretchen Wilson will perform, yeehaw!

McCain has now landed in Minneapolis, but whether he intends to make a surprise appearance at tonight's speeches, like Barack Obama did during Biden's speech last week, is unclear. Friday morning after accepting the nomination, McCain and Palin are off to tiny Cedarburg, Wisconsin for the launch of small-town initiative "McCain Street, USA." (Note: There is no street in Cedarburg named McCain.)

Meanwhile, Obama and Biden are deep in the Democratic batcave, but Obama will appear tomorrow night to answer questions in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. First person to ask him about teen pregnancy gets a one-way ticket out of the state!
