Open Roads Travel: Art and the Automobile

September 29, 2008 at 1:00 PM | by sedona | 0 Comments

What's better on a crisp fall day than perfect foliage, winding country roads and expensive automobiles? Not much. Head to Ogden, Quebec (close to the VT border) with your roadster to take in Art and the Automobile, a four-day festival October 2-5 featuring a car show, art exhibition, car rally and photography workshop.

The rally is designed for both classic and contemporary cards and has two specially-planned routes, one east of Lake Memphremagog and one west. Cruise along and stop to take in the sights like a one-of-a-kind 12-sided barn built in 1882. The art exhibition will be held on the Davis-Kell farm and showcase pieces by Alain Levesque, Jesse Alexander, Stephen Brathwaite, Louise Abbott and Niels Jensen. Also on the farm, the car show will highlight vehicles designed by Paul Deutschman.

A photography workshop, led by Abbott and Jensen, will take participants on two-day trips in the region where they will be able to snap the unveiling of a new Callaway "supercar" in a stunning rural setting, as well as the fall landscape.

Daily admissions is about $10, with the special photography package costing $1,250; that includes other perks like apparel, a framed and signed photo, meals, photo accessories and more. Time to gas up!
