Where To Stay: Rodanthe Vacation Rentals
Avoid the seaside motels and rent a decked out spot of your own. This agency offers them all, from two-bedrooms to eight-bedrooms with perks like jacuzzis, game rooms, WiFi and XBox. A week will run you anywhere from $1,300 to $2,700. Look out for overtly romantic roommates!
Where To Eat: Lone Cedar Cafe
Right on the Causeway near Nags Head, the Lone Cedar serves fresh caught seafood (fish, crabs, clams, squid, shrimp and oysters) with locally grown seasonal veggies. Every table has a gorgeous Atlantic view, too. They don't take reservations so be prepared to wait and watch the sunset.
What to See: Chicamacomico Lifesaving Station
Built in 1874 and commissioned by Congress to patrol for ships lost at sea, Chicamacomico was one of the country's most famous lifesaving operations. In 1918 six of its members saved 47 of 57 British sailors when their ship was torpedoed off the coast. It's the perfect spot to relive your hero/Prince Charming fantasy.
