Still, both candidates are headed to Capitol Hill today to meet with lawmakers, despite noise that a preliminary bipartisan deal has been reached. Speaking at the Clinton Global Initiative in New York this morning, McCain declared "doing nothing is not an option" and referred to his old Naval experience in declaring his intention to work on the bailout package.
Meanwhile, Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin answered a few questions--more or less--on a visit to Ground Zero, and Democratic potential Veep Joe Biden knocked McCain's reversal on his pronouncement that the economy was "strong" on a stop in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.
