While The Remington gets billed as an "American" restaurant, we don't know if that's the right way to describe it. The norteamericano twang of owner Fernando Raña (who lived in Texas for 38 years) shines through a little bit with saddles on the wall and dishes like a Philly cheesesteak and a shrimp po' boy. But big steaks served with potatoes and shrimp risotto can be found in plenty of Argentine menus in town.
On one trip, we tried dinner, and found it to be just as good as the food we'd enjoyed at Mott. While the wine list probably wouldn't win an award, if you need more than a dozen Malbecs to choose from, you're too picky.
The menu isn't as long as some of the others we've seen in the 'nabe, but there's plenty to choose from, with a few types of steak, a few types of seafood and an obligatory pasta dish--which is way tastier than it needs to be to please anyone looking for a break from beef.
As for that lunch, our pan-seared cod also came with roasted vegetables, a drink and a dessert. Total cost? We'd have paid 50 pesos, but our bill came to just 27, or $9. How is this place still empty?!
