Waffle House Opens World's Greasiest Museum
No American road trip--well, at least any south of the Mason-Dixon line--is complete without a stop into at least one Waffle House.
But for those whose obsession with all things greasy spoon goes beyond smothered, chopped and covered hash browns, there is a new temple of waffle worship: Behold the Waffle House Museum.
The chain has gone back to Decatur, Georgia to reclaim its very first location--which opened in 1955 but then spent twenty years as a Chinese take-out joint--into a museum honoring the restaurant's history. The tiny restaurant has been outfitted with vintage equipment and memorabilia displays celebrating its 50-plus-years of early morning coffee, late-night snack attacks and even-later-night Kid Rock Brawls.
