Mexican LCCs: Alma de Mexico Likes Being Flexible

Where: Mexico
August 6, 2008 at 9:45 AM | by amandak | 0 Comments

With a full name of Aerolíneas Mesoamericanas, we're pleased that this particular Mexican LCC runs by the abbreviation of Alma de Mexico. It's been flying since 2006 out of its Guadalajara base to some 20 or so Mexican destinations.

Alma does a few innovative things like combining plane and bus rides in their "multimodal" service. Frequent fliers around Mexico can also buy a "Pago Pack," which is worthwhile if you take more than 12 return flights within a year.

Something we don't see often is a buy now, pay later approach to flights--but Alma de Mexico has some deals with credit card companies that get you paying for your flight six months later, interest-free. That's something we usually only do with furniture but heck, we can live with innovation.
