Possible Presidents Travel: Giving Iowa a Try

August 25, 2008 at 2:50 PM | 0 Comments

After a triumphant stop in his home state of Illinois with new road buddy Joe Biden, Barack Obama is speaking in Davenport, Iowa this morning at a "One Nation" town hall meeting. While his wife Michelle Obama is making tracks to Denver to speak at the DNC tonight, her husband is wending his way there, stopping in the battleground state of Missouri tomorrow. John McCain is polling 10 points ahead of Obama in the Show Me State, according to last week's numbers.

Speaking of McCain, we found him! He's at home in Phoenix, Arizona, where yesterday he took secret meetings at the Ritz-Carlton near his condos at the Residences at 2211 Camelback, two of the eight homes the McCains have together.

This morning he appeared at Phoenix Central High School for an appearance with Puerto Rican rapper Daddy Yankee, truly rivaling Heidi Montag as oddest Republican endorser of this campaign cycle. He'll be on the "Tonight Show" tonight and in Sacramento tomorrow before returning to Arizona and, we presume, veep deliberation on Wednesday.

We'll take this moment to wish McCain a happy birthday on Friday: He's 72! Hopefully his to-be-announced second banana has already ordered a cake.
