Dinner Dates: Neighborhood seafood and burgers joint The Good Fork is homey enough for the producers to drive home the fact that they're really in Brooklyn, yet yuppie enough to prove that this Brooklyn is new and cool. (Case in point: They serve fish and chips, but the "chips" are made form lotus root.)
Nightly Hangout: If the MTV producers don't get their cast to Red Hook Bait and Tackle at least once, they're simply not doing their jobs right. (Admittedly, they may have some trouble, as the bar is known to post signs outside along the lines of "please check your douche-baggery at the door.") This dive bar/taxidermy preservationist society serves some of Brooklyn's cheapest beers, and thus attracts some of its most eclectic--and drunkest--characters. We can only hope they'll make it onto the show!
Meeting the Locals: Sunny's Bar has been around since 1890, and the clientele still skews more old school, working class Brooklyn than scrawny hipster Brooklyn. Will the RW cast show up for Saturday night bluegrass jam? Probably not, but it would be a pretty awesome culture clash if they did.
Drinking and Yelling: Nowhere in Red Hook does this better than Rocky Sullivan's, the raucous Irish pub with the scenic roof deck that just relocated from Manhattan. If this year's cast has a "dude who is always looking for a fight," he won't be disappointed at this place.
Making Fools of Themselves: Hope and Anchor is a laid-back neighborhood diner with a catch: Friday and Saturday night karaoke. If the kids are smart, they'll return to nurse their hangovers with the killer cheap breakfast.
