The Hills Travel: The Part Where We Need to Make an Effort

Season 4 is here, and we're all over it on the Hills Season 4 Travel Map.

Previously: Whitney and LC changed jobs to the dangerous-sounding fashion firm People's Revolution; Spencer chased Heidi to Vegas and it worked and the Chatheau was born even while Audrina made vague unhappy noises.

It's Audrina's birthday and LC decides to throw her a pool party. Who doesn't love pool parties? Lo, apparently, who feels excluded and goes up in her room to sulk despite LC's pleas, and her own determination, "We're just going to have to enjoy... the company that comes." Sure, Audrina's friends are weird, like JustinBobby, who shows up to a pool party in a leather jacket, and the unnamed dude pictured above.

But it's a party! There's punch. Later, Lo goes over to Audrina's to apologize, but ruins it by claiming once again that her roommate just isn't making an effort to be friends, at her own birthday party. Audrina shuts her down with, "I just feel like I already have friends that treat me good." BURNED! It's her explanation that provides the episode's title, which for once isn't about LC and Heidi.

Speaking of La Montag: Spencer just moved back in and the stage is set for lovers' quarrels when Heidi's sister Holly (at right) comes to visit. Heids didn't exactly clear this trip with her beau, and he repays her by being a jackass. Holly, who looks more like Taylor Momsen's older sister than Heidi's younger sibling, makes him breakfast, and he won't even eat it.

They bond over Holly's new 'do at Privé Salon and attempt to give each other advice in a sisterly way. (Holly: "You used to tell [our parents] everything." Heidi: "And then you grow up.") On her way back to Colorado, Heidi extends a casual offer for her to stay with them again if Holly moves to California and is looking for a place. Predictably, Spencer hates that too.

And, as hyped in the previews, LC goes on the world's most boring date with Doug, a guy she knows from... going to prom with him in high school. He takes her out to the Red Pearl Kitchen, where they talk about high school, and he asks to see her again before they've even finished a round of drinks. Internet, that never happens! Next week, LC goes out with the only other man from Laguna she's never dated, Mickey Rooney.

This season: Stephanie is a doublecrosser, Spencer is a jerk, Whitney is in love, Audrina is topless and Holly is in Hollywood! We are woozy with the possibilities.
