Of course, things always start badly when the flight is delayed. Apparently, this time it wasn't their fault--another airline's aircraft was blocking the gate--but it was late at night and everyone was hoping to get back to Perth sometime before the next morning.
On board, things improved somewhat, and without getting out my measuring tape, I did get the feeling there was more legroom than on the reverse Virgin Blue flight. But the fun of Virgin Blue wasn't there, and I'm sorry to say that the flight attendants were both a little unfriendly and not very attractive.
If you want to watch a movie you have to hire their hi-tech box and set in on your tray table--I'm guessing that makes it extra annoying when the person in front reclines their seat. On the plus side, their on board menu is actually reasonably priced.
After we disembarked, Jetstar sent us on a merry tour of the airport as they changed the carousel where our luggage would appear, but they'd probably blame that on some other airline, too. At a price of A$229 ($219) for this reasonably long flight, it's all in all a good deal, but you're getting little more than a seat on a flying bus. Sometimes "real" Qantas flights can be had for a similar price; I'd definitely go for them instead.
