The age of the low cost carrier may be over--at least in Mexico. The Atlanta Journal Constitution says prices are already up 25 percent this year, and increases show no sign of stopping.

Along with rising fares, international and Mexican carriers are grounding planes and trimming capacity. Meanwhile bus companies are putting their fares on sale--a move they can afford thanks to government gasoline subsidies.
