Like a Phoenix form the Ashes: Reggae on the River 2008
Take one part Humbolt County, California and douse it with an all-day reggae and world music festival and you have one of those unions made in heaven like chocolate and peanut butter. This Saturday, July 19, Reggae on the River will go off at Benbow Lake State Recreation Area.
Notorious for attracting some of the dirtiest, stinkiest, dreadlocked-iest white people this side of a trust fund, ROTR guarantees a full day of irie acts from across the globe in the beautiful redwood country of Northern California.
The concert is an annual benefit for The Mateel Community Center located in Redway, so you can feel good about shelling out $50 for the ticket, plus whatever else you spend on Jah-related religious services.
