In Buena Park, Knott's Berry Farm has just launched a new Pony Express attraction. This coaster is tailored to the younger demographic, but the chance to "ride" horses via a unique vehicle and restraint system should interest ride lovers of any age.
On the coast in Santa Monica, Pacific Park has given the famous Pacific Wheel a face lift, complete with a new set of solar powered LED lights. Besides being more energy efficient, the lights allow stunning visual presentations as the wheel rises 130 feet above the Pacific. It's also got a web presence via this live webcam. Bonus: This is LA's only free-admission park.
Finally, new to Disneyland is the addition of Toy Story Mania, an $80 million theme park attraction, ride and video game all rolled into one. Guests will be greeted by a robotic Mr. Potato Head, voiced by Don Rickles, interacting with guests like a true carnival barker. With 3D glasses in place, you'll navigate virtual reality versions of classic carnival games starring the Toy Story gang.
