Where Is the US Sugar Refinery?

Florida's governor announced today that his state would buy out US Sugar, the country's largest sugar processor, for $1.7 billion. The deal, once finalized, will have the firm shut down in six years and turn over 187,000 acres of land to the state, restoring natural water flow back to Lake Okeechobee.

Governor Charlie Crist says the deal is:

As monumental as the creation of our nation's first national park, Yellowstone.

We wouldn't go that far, but it is quite a move. But will the cool place names in South Florida disappear like the 1,700 jobs at US Sugar? We're not ready to say goodbye to Sugarland Park, Sugarton and Sugar Junction!

Thanks to the Tree Huggers, 1700 jobs are GONE (none / 0)

It's enough to make you vomit.  1700 jobs down the drain because a bunch of liberal tree huggers want to save a species of frog.  If you ask me, the tree huggers should forfeit their jobs to the now unemployed from U.S. Sugar, and the tree huggers families and children can starve while the tree huggers look for jobs.

It's a sick world we live in where the planet becomes more important than the people who live on it.  Environmentalism is going too far.  It's time for the population to strike back against this lunacy.  We're gonna take it all back from you, tree huggers!!!
