Sheriff's Deputy Devin Vanderlaan says he became interested in Buket after seeing him spray paint a city bus in an internet video (very NSFW rap soundtrack included). He told the LA Times that he began tracking Yazdani because:
If he's brave enough to tag on an MTA bus in the middle of the day, I've gotta find out who this guy is.
After following him "for months," the deputy determined that Buket was "one of the most prolific taggers we've seen" and was responsible for graffiti throughout California and Nevada. Yazdani, who faces multiple charges of felony vandalism, was arrested when he showed up to meet with his probation officer about--yep--another graffiti charge.
