Travel Gear: The Jellyclick Inflatable Mouse

Of the heaps of travel gadgets we've seen over the years, we can't quite remember one quite so useless. But still, being the geeks we are, we can't get over this inflatable mouse.

Seriously, is it really necessary? Doubtful. And so far, it's only in the prototype stage. You know if it comes out it'll cost like $200, too.

Then again, if you're anything like us, your laptop bag is always stuffed, and sometimes you forget to make room for your mouse. An inflatable like this would definitely come in handy--and would be waaaay better than working all day from a trackpad.

Inflatable mouse? (none / 0)

I'm torn between thinking it looks like a breast implant and wondering how much space it's really going to save. I'm not sure I want to be seen inflating my mouse on a flight or in Starbucks.

Let's be real. (none / 0)

How is this gadget useful? If you want to save space then use the trackpad. And who honestly is going to want to inflate something; people already have trouble breathing and wasting air on this creation is pointless. And I agree with the price, it's bound to be $100+.

who travels with mouses? (none / 0)

not to be mean, but i'm feeling cranky today so i'll go with it. the only people i've seen traveling with mouses is like the older business traveler types who cart some Dell laptop from 2000.  everyone else i know just uses the mouse on their laptop.

and i just can't imagine those biz types being savvy enough to know about or purchase an inflatable mouse. still, A for effort to the folks at JelllyClick!

you don't?! (none / 0)

Wow, I totally have to argue the other side here. I used to leave my mouse at home, and I hated using the trackpad. My mouse is the size of a digital camera--and lighter--and it tucks right into my laptop bag. It makes me so much more productive.

I guess if I was 100 percent "on vacation," I'd consider leaving it behind (along with my computer), but I haven't not worked on a trip in a long time.

ew no! (none / 0)

no mouses for me. i have too much other crap to pack in my bag like a digital camera, a back-up digital camera, a memory card reader, a phone charger, a digital camera battery charger, an iPod, iPod charger, and packs of gum.

wow. i can't even remember what it is like to travel without my computer and the necessary accessories. sigh.
